Technical Session

Dave Brown presents part one of, "Some examples of effective use of logical functions and expressions in Excel"

Microsoft Excel built-in functions serve a wide variety of purposes in producing effective analysis and reporting results for quality applications. The power of Excels math and other functions are greatly enhanced by the use of logical functions, singly and in combination to produce a wide variety of results, often within a single cell result. This session will begin a multipart series explaining how Excel’s logical functions may be used in quality applications.

Bob Graham was a Lab Technician, Project Chemist, and Laboratory Supervisor for the first 20 years of his career.

Quality Systems Manager at Excel Paralubes, a Conoco/Pennzoil Company Joint Venture, from 1995-1999 implementing a QS9000 Quality Management System.

Quality Systems Manager at Ashland Chemical Electronic Chemicals Division (ECD) from 1999-2003 where led upgrading of ISO9000 Systems to QS9000 and TS16949 automotive Quality Standards across 5 Global sites in the U.S. Europe, and Asia . The ECD Division was purchased by Air Products and Chemicals in 2003 and moved to a Continuous Improvement role managing the implementation of Lean/Six Sigma Systems across the Division.

Moved to the Ferro Corporation Electronic Materials and Services Division in 2008 as the Global Lean Leader responsible for the development and deployment of the Lean Manufacturing System across 9 Manufacturing sites in the U.S. , Europe, and Asia.

Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1980 and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Finance in 1989. Also hold a an MBA with a dual concentration in Human Resource Management and Operations Management from the University of Pittsburgh. (Attended the University of Pittsburgh for 16 of 19 Years at Night)

He has been an ASQ member since 1991 and hold 4 Certifications: Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Manger of Quality and Organizational Excellence, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

Bob has a strong interest in building Learning Organizations and has endeavored to elevate organizational learning and capability throughout career.
