The pre-meeting topic is process capability and is presented by Jim Odom.

Commander Wert is our main speaker and will talk about what most people do not know about law enforcement. He will overview the standards for the State of Ohio and the standards of Excellence for Kent State (of course).

David W. Wert has been a police officer for 27 years. He comes from a long line of "Educators;" his Father, a former Supt. of Schools; his Mother, a Special Ed teacher; 2 brothers are school principals, his sister is an ED. David and his other brother chose law enforcement. After a few years as a patrolman, David's inherited tendency to teach/train took over and he took on the additional mantra of law enforcement trainer. He has been a state certified Law Enforcement Instructor for 23 years and a state certified Police Academy Commander for 20 years. He is the senior Commander here at Kent State. Commander David Wert.
