Do you want to lead change initiatives within your organization in order to achieve increased efficiency, productivity and profitability? Lean tools can be applied to every process and industry. In this intensive one-week program you will learn actual applications, not just concepts, of Lean tools and techniques from a combination of classroom instruction and participation, group activities and multiple hands-on simulations. You will also learn how to assemble effective Lean teams to identify and eliminate waste in your key processes. You will have the opportunity to implement an action plan for your organization’s Lean initiative. Experienced subject matter experts will guide you through the transformation process to ensure measurable impact. Upon completion of the program, you will be certified as a Kent State Lean Practitioner.

Key candidates for Kent State’s Lean Practitioner training and certification are quality technicians, supervisors, managers, continual improvement staff, team leaders, process and industrial engineers, personnel responsible for process improvement or any employee who wants to improve the effectiveness of a process within an organization.

Lean is a systematic approach to continually identify and eliminate wasteful activities. The result is improved profitability and increased competitiveness. This training and certification provides you with a practical understanding of the tools in the Lean toolbox and how each can be applied in your workplace to eliminate waste. You will learn how Lean supports continual improvement resulting in a lower cost to produce products and deliver services. You will learn step-by-step methodologies for implementing Lean within your organization and explore the challenges and obstacles that you, as a change agent, may have to overcome. As part of the program you will prepare an action plan for implementing the Lean concepts to a project. Upon completion of the program you will be certified as a Kent State Lean Practitioner.
